Obituary for Genevieve Anne (Boshek) Halverson
Genevieve Anne (Boshek) Halverson, age 89, of the Lordship section of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Henry Halverson III passed away peacefully Sunday, January 6, 2019 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Genevieve was born March 12, 1929 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kuba) Boshek and had been a longtime Lordship resident.

Time spent with family was everything to Genevieve, especially Sunday dinners and holidays. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and a member of their Rosary Society, a member of several bridge clubs, active in the Lordship Fathers Club, and an honorary member of the Pootatuck Yacht Club. She was an avid reader, played tennis, enjoyed time at Short Beach, dining out with friends and watching UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball games.

Survivors include her five devoted children; Henry Halverson IV and his wife Pamela, Thomas Halverson, Paul Halverson and his wife Nancy, Sharon Jakabcin and her husband Ray and Kathleen Stone and her husband Robert; eleven grandchildren, Matthew Halverson and his wife Jennifer, Erin Halverson, Denise Pastor and her husband Mark, Diana Flathers and her husband Matthew, Stephania Halverson, Christine Halverson, Paul Halverson and his wife Michelle, Michael Halverson, Krista Halverson, Brian Jakabcin and Kimberly Jakabcin; six great-grandchildren, Emma, William, Cody, Dakota, Thomas and Delaney and two nephews, John and Edward Hardy.

She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Hardy and her husband, John and her baby brother, Stanley Boshek.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Nicholas Pavia on Friday, January 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Church, 230 Park Blvd, Stratford, CT.

Interment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.

Friends may visit with her family, Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Peace Sanctuary Fund, 651 Stratford Rd, Stratford, CT 06615.
