Obituary for Daniel J. Hannan Sr.
Daniel John Hannan Sr., age 55, of Stratford, beloved husband of Joanne (Silva) Hannan, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was born January 29, 1962, in Bridgeport son of Joan (Reck) Hannan of Stratford and the late Arthur C. Hannan and had been a lifelong Stratford resident.
A graduate of Stratford High School, Dan grew up and learned his trade in the family business F.H. Hannan Supply Company and was employed by Bridgeport Lumber.
He was an avid New York Yankee and Giant fan and loved boating, fishing, cooking out, the Blues on the Beach Festival, listening to Pink Floyd and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother, include his three adored sons, James Hannan, Michael Hannan and Daniel Hannan Jr.; father-in-law, Anthony Silva; six siblings, Patricia Brisch, Thomas Hannan and his wife Jane, Ruth Thornton and her husband Jeffrey, Katie Dyke and her husband Joseph, Christopher Hannan and his wife Diane and Robert Hannan and his wife Leslie; aunts and uncles, Arlene Cook and her husband Edward, Helen Claire Kay and Stephen Reck and his wife Janet and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral service celebrated by Deacon Timothy Bolton on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit with Dan's family Sunday before service time from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
